Common questions

How do I change the scrolling speed?

Use minus and plus in the prompter. Speed is in words per minute, so it stays the same when you change the text size. Most people speak at about 150.

What do the symbols in my script do?

*word* shows the word in amber, for emphasis.
// adds a breath pause.
# Intro on its own line starts a section.
[smile] is a note for you that isn't counted as spoken.

My microphone doesn't show up

Unplug the receiver, plug it back in and wait a few seconds.
Make sure the receiver is on and paired with its transmitter.
Check Settings › Privacy & Security for wired accessory and microphone access.
Some mics have a Bluetooth mode that only works in their maker's app. Use the receiver instead.

Where are my recordings?

In your Photos library. If the app ever closes before a take is saved, Scriptlight saves it to Photos the next time you turn on the camera.

How do I get a script into Scriptlight?

Write it in the app, paste it, or open a .txt, .md or .rtf file and choose Scriptlight from the share menu.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the Pro screen in Scriptlight and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.

It needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings.
